The Night Angels Cried

It began on a stormy night in North Ipswich. Peter and Chris were living together in a small apartment when something called The Ghosts Of Dawn appeared on a laptop. At first they were only images on a screen. Then they began coming through it.

Outside, the night descended into chaos. Streetlights exploded one after another, a red glow spread across the horizon, buildings burned and terrified people fled through the streets. Peter and Chris escaped in Peter's bright red Corvette, watching the city disappear in flames behind them, until the car mysteriously lost power on an isolated road surrounded by forest.

They entered The Dark Forest, and everything changed.

After an encounter with legendary warriors Peter recognised from fantasy, the two friends were separated. Peter was captured while Chris disappeared deeper into the forest, despite not wanting to leave his friend behind. Peter spent a long and lonely imprisonment beneath a full moon, finding companionship in Neko, a strange cat-like creature whose very existence would later become a mystery. Chris, meanwhile, discovered an orphaned wolf cub beside its dead parents. He named him Wolfy, beginning a friendship that would become one of the most important bonds of their journey.

Elsewhere, within Castle Lionheart, another unlikely hero entered the story. Yuki★Spark seemed almost completely oblivious to the darkness surrounding her, taking selfies, livestreaming and talking incessantly while travelling alongside a huge warrior in green armour. Yet behind her chaotic personality was someone who would eventually stand beside Peter, Chris and Wolfy when Fantasia needed them most.

The darkness had begun long before Peter and Chris arrived. In The Forgotten Village, Gothika had slaughtered an innocent family and the village around them. Once a friend of King Lionheart, he had begun walking his own dark path, and from the night of the massacre, morning never came. As Peter and Chris travelled through Fantasia, the darkness continued to spread and The Ghosts Of Dawn appeared in ever greater numbers.

Eventually Peter was freed and the scattered paths of the heroes converged. What followed was a desperate march on Castle Lionheart. Peter confronted Gothika at the edge of the castle cliffs. Chris fought a dragon alone in the skies above Fantasia. Far away, Yuki and Wolfy encountered thousands of Ghosts Of Dawn within The Dark Forest. And after watching the huge warrior she had known at the castle, the creator of CyberWolf, fall through the scope of her rifle, a devastated Yuki took an impossible shot across the distant fields and struck The Witch dead.

But the war was not won.

CyberWolf finally located the target he had been created to eliminate... Chris. Peter, Yuki, Wolfy and a mysterious, sexy tiger-like woman joined him in the fight against the machine and together they defeated CyberWolf, only for it to initiate its self-destruct sequence. As the others desperately sought cover, the mysterious woman disappeared over the castle cliffs and into the ocean, leaving her survival unknown.

The explosion struck Castle Lionheart.

The castle fell, leaving a bloodied King Lionheart sitting among its ruins.

Peter, Chris, Yuki and Wolfy emerged from the devastation as The Four Survivors. They began the long journey home as Fantasia seemed to die around them. Snow fell across the wounded world, yet along their path there were small signs that life had not disappeared completely. Yuki discovered a beautiful blooming magical flower, enchanted by the life still surviving around them.

Eventually they reached The Road Home.

Chris was forced to say goodbye to Wolfy, who could not follow him into the Real World. Peter, Chris and Yuki continued together until another crossroads appeared. There, Yuki chose a different road, setting out to pursue a life and a voice of her own.

Peter and Chris returned home.

Fantasia remained behind them.

And its story was far from over.
